TaskForge IT is a product of Taskforge IT Solutions (Pty) Ltd ("TaskForge", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information the TaskForge platform collects, how it's used, and how it's protected — both for the IT service companies who license our software ("Customers") and the people whose data those Customers manage within it (their staff, clients, and site contacts).
TaskForge is primarily a local-first application — each Customer's job card, asset, and client data is stored in a local database on their own infrastructure (a technician's PC or the Customer's own on-site Team Server), not in a TaskForge-hosted database. What actually touches TaskForge's own servers is limited to:
Job cards, client records, staff directories, credentials, and similar business data are created and stored by each Customer within their own installation, and TaskForge does not have routine access to that data.
Customers use TaskForge to store information about their own clients and staff — names, contact details, site addresses, and similar. TaskForge acts as the software provider in this relationship; the Customer is the party responsible for that data and for their own compliance obligations toward the people it belongs to.
Depending on which features a Customer enables, the platform may send data to:
Each of these is only contacted when the relevant feature is actually configured and used, and using API keys or credentials the Customer supplies themselves.
Separately from the Software platform described above, our marketing website (taskforge-it.co.za) uses Google Analytics to understand visitor traffic — how many people visit, which pages they view, and which channels (search, social, direct) bring them here. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and pages visited. This applies to anyone browsing the website, whether or not they ever become a TaskForge customer. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using a browser extension such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Because most data lives on each Customer's own infrastructure, physical and network security of that installation is primarily the Customer's responsibility. TaskForge secures its own systems — the license server and customer portal — using standard practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls.
If you're an individual whose information has been stored by a Customer using TaskForge (for example, as a client contact or staff member in their system), your rights regarding that data are best exercised directly with that Customer, as they control it. For anything TaskForge holds directly — your license account or support correspondence — contact us using the details below.
